toughest love

Now, isn’t compassion a tricky word;
like with a compass does love well aim,
certainly does its grace grace the world—
but say not every direction be the same.

let your love live proud, bright, aloud,
like the sun through even the darkest cloud—
and so say your love’s love’s your own:
letting loving leaders be well known!

see to the wisdom of knowing enemies—
how even hearts and minds wage war!
like good rivals bring on their remedies,
who you fight you might soon stand for.
