I thought in this house I could speak to you
alone, but now I realize you yearn.
and so, I see just one way to be true:
I’ll keep you close and steady as I learn.
in doing this I’ll tell you what we’ll earn:
height and might with sight so crystal clear, then—
as though soaring above our so dear men!
and though in such joyous flight we both live
eternal, as roses bloom, so they wilt.
but with such grace that their scent they still give
and, so their image in minds remains built,
golden, glowing and guiding without guilt.
and embodied, housed, we may rise and fall
and again with reason rise, so to call.
